I think that the French and Indian war should be considered one of the major causes of the American Revolution. This event made the colonist want freedom. With one war comes the want for another and the desires to win for your cause. I think that they began to want freedom even more as the British began to enforce rules that the colonists highly disagreeded with. For example the tea tax that became another major reason for war. By being though already in a state for war i think that they were ready to take on the British and win their freedom and become Independant.

yes i think the french and indian war was a major cause of the amarican revolution. during the french and indian war colonist were poorly treated by the brists soldiers. all colonist were restricted and not allowed to rise above a colonel. colonist regimen were poorly funded and armed compared to there british companians. after the french and indian war the king took away what the colonist had fought for witht there blood. though it is duely noted the king did it to give them time to deal with the indias the colonist didnt see it that way. this would lead to much unrest and tension.

I don't think the friwench and indian war should be considered a major cause of the american revolution. During the war, teh americans and teh english faught side by side against the french and indians. This encouraged unity and brotherhood between the two, not the other way around. Teh conflict stemed from other things the british did later that upset teh colonists

Yes i think it was a major influence for the American Revolution. The colonists got that little taste of rebellion, land, etc. and they wanted more. Since the british helped the colonist win that war they feel that they have complete controll over the colonists when really they fought for what they had.

I'm kinda undecided on this, i think it was a big influence but maybe not like majorly. Although they did work together against the french during the war, this did spark their want for freedom. But I believe the major influence was all the taxes that the british were putting on the new england colonies.

I have mixed feelings on this. I don't think the French and Indian War was THE cause for the American Revolution, but it did help lead to this. The Americans felt victory after this war, even if the British helped them. The British felt they had a right to control the Americans more since they helped the Americans win the war. This war also opened the British eyes to the fact that other countries could very well take over their precious colonies. So, in response, the British placed taxes on everything in order to put more control on the colonies. The colonists responded with revolt (by way of the American Revolution) because they felt they were strong enough to control themselves after winning the French and Indian War.

Even though the American colonist and the British soldiers faught together, the british still talked down to the Colonist and actually caused a lot of personal resentment from colonist to British. This could've been an indirect cause of the Am. Revolution, but i agree with Cathy that this was not THE cause.

I agree that the French and Indian War was a major cause of the American Revolution. Right before, they had the period of salutary neglect, where the British totally left the colonist alone and they had absolute freedom. The colonist liked this idea, and decided infinite freedom was what they wanted. The French and Indian War gave the colonist a feel of the land , and freedom that they eventually would fight for.

I think that the French and Indian war should be considered one of the causes. the war left many dead and it created tension between us and Britian. It also led to a period of neglect where the colonies were free to do what they wanted and they could control themselvs. And when Britian wanted control over us agaign thats when the revolution begain.

MAYNARD:)
I definatly think that the French and Indian war played a role in sparking the Revolution. With the colonist winning the French and Indian war they felt like they were indivinceable. The colonist during the period of neglect, during and after the war, from the mother country, got a taste of what it would be like to govern themselves. They liked that feeling of freedom later leading them to fight for it. But what really caused the colonists to revolt was when the British after the period of neglect started impossing very strict taxes on everything, taking away the rights they had got used to. The taxes was like prodding the colonists with hot sticks, it caused extreme anger and unhappiness; making them declare war and seperation from England.

I do think that the French and Indian war should be considered as a major cause that led to the Revolutionary war. The French and Indian war gave the colonist a sense of freedom during the time of their salutary neglect from England. I think after the British came back and took control it angered the colonists and they wanted their independence. I also think because the colonists were in the state of war they were prepared to take on the challenge of defeating the British and becoming a independent nation.

Yes I think that the French and Indian war should be considered as a major contributor to the American Revolution. The war forced colonies together to form an organized front against the French. When they won the war, they had a strong sense of an ability to fend for themselves. The colonists didn't need the British, and so they later flouted the laws that they passed, as the did with the Proclamation Line.

I think that the French and Indian war is a major cause of the American Revolution. For years the British king had left the colonies on their own, allowing them to govern themselves. As time went on they really no longer saw themselves as English, but Americans. After the French and Indian War, they no longer had to worry about being attacked by the French in the north, or the Spainish in the Florida. It gave them a sense that they could defend themselves. Then after the war England tried to again seize control over the colonies, by passing strict laws, and giving them taxes, but no representation in government. This furthered their want of Independence from England, and thus lead to the American Revolution.

I think that it could be considered one of the major causes because it gave the colonists a taste of freedom.

I agree with the majority of the comments in thinking that the French and Indian War was a major cause of the American Revolution. The occurance of this war gave the colonists a feeling of freedom, and they liked it. With their eyes set on independence, the Revolution happened because they were ready to be separated from Englad.
